After having postponed and then ultimately cancelling the 2020 and 2021 events, the Whole Town Garage Sale will reappear in 2022.
The team at Rochester Community House is excited to be bringing the event alive again.
“Our team is determined to bring this great event back that demonstrates what a welcoming community we are, that one person’s trash is another one’s treasure and Rochester is the home to great events,” Rochester Community House co-ordinator Amanda Logie said.
“Since its inception, we have seen over 500 houses participate and over 10,000 visitors to town.
“Its such an important event for our town.”
Forms will be available for early bird registration from Wednesday, December 1.
Forms will be available from the Rochester Community House and Shire Service Centre, Rochester Newsagents, Rochester Bakery, The Café Rochester, and The Willow/Ampol Service Station.
The early bird price of $15 will be available from December 1 until January 30.
The Rochester Community House will be closed for the Christmas break from Friday, December 17, and will reopen at 9am on Monday, January 3.
Standard registration of $20 will be available from January 31 until the closing date of February 7.
Maps will then be prepared for the event and will be on sale on the morning of the sale at a cost of $2.
Maps will be located at Rochester Bakery, Rochester Newsagency, The Café Rochester, and The Willow/Ampol Service Station.
The Rochester Primary School will host a barbecue at the GrainCorp Silos on the day of the event, and will also have maps for sale.
The Rochester Community House encourages visitors to support these local businesses and organisations that support the town for this event.
“We envisage that there will be a lot of people lining up to register this year as they may have accumulated a couple of years’ worth of items that they no longer need,” Ms Logie said.
“As an added incentive, the first 30 houses to register will receive a small surprise in their registration pack.
“All locations must have a QR code, which is done at the time of paying for and collecting your registration pack.
“It’s an exciting time for our community to be able to welcome back this fabulous event.”
