The Visitor Centre in Yarrawonga Mulwala has been a cornerstone of the community for over 35 years, thanks to the unwavering dedication of its senior volunteers.

But the centre needs more members of the community to join the team and assist our visitors with information and volunteer at events.
Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism and Business Executive Noel Wright said these volunteers provide invaluable assistance to staff by sharing their local knowledge with visitors, enhancing the overall experience.
“The personal interaction between volunteers and visitors over the years has ensured longer stays, bigger spending, which assists in these visitors consistently revisiting,” Mr Wright said.
“This positive impact has helped maintain a buoyant visitor economy during challenging times for regional Victoria.”
The senior volunteers’ contributions extend beyond the centre, playing crucial roles in supporting local events such as the Lake Mulwala Rod Run, Yarrawonga Powerboat Spectacular and Fair, Country Week Tennis, and the Multisport Festival.
“Their involvement in various tasks, from manning gates to cleaning the foreshore, has kept these events within budget for years,” Mr Wright explained.
The upcoming Lake Mulwala Rod Run, scheduled for November 8, 9, and 10, is another event that benefits from the volunteers' support.
“Their efforts have helped keep costs down, allowing Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism Bureau (YMTB) to continue paying the hosting fee to Northern Suburbs Street Rod Club,” Mr Wright explained
