The Great Postie Bike Adventure has raised tens of thousands for a critical Echuca Regional Health department.

On Monday, April 15, a $50,000 cheque was handed over to ERH chief executive officer Robyn Lindsay and community services executive director Cynthia Robins for mental health and wellbeing services.
In February, the annual event saw 50 riders on ‘postie bikes’ cover 700km of the Victorian High Country over three days.
Ms Lindsay said ERH was thankful for the ongoing support from the Horizon Committee and ride participants.
“The $50,000 donation we have received will go directly towards the Mental Health and Wellbeing fundraising campaign that seeks to bridge the gaps in mental health care, providing accessible resources, counselling and educational programs,” she said.
“All funds raised for Echuca-Moama and surrounds’ primary mental health will help to build a brighter, mentally healthier future for our beloved community.”
The Horizon Committee Inc is behind the journey, which is one of several fundraising initiatives from the group.
Their other fundraisers include the Murray Charity Meander, Echuca-Moama’s Biggest Ever Blokes Lunch, and the Little Blue Towels project, which have raised more than $2.6 million in total since 2004.
“There are lots and lots of businesses around the towns who are happy to chip in,” Horizon Committee’s Darren Stephenson said.
“There are so many local businesses who support us.”
“When you start talking about donating to cancer support services and things like that, people are happy to give,” Horizon Committee vice-president Hayley Lawton said.

“Thank you ... we don't take your effort for granted,” Ms Lindsay said.
“$50,000 is so much money and particularly as we’re just starting out fundraising in the primary mental health space.
“We’re trying to build up this part of our service ... we’re trying to wrap a bit more support around it.
