CAMPASPE Shire Council’s 10-year plan will go back before staff to be updated for anomalies and to specify that it is only an indicative costing.

At the July 21 council meeting the costings for capital works until June 2030 was presented, with council’s capital works co-ordinator Sarah Butterworth recommending councillors adopt the program and agree on an annual review of the plan.
However, Cr Vicki Neele sent it back to the infrastructure team.
“My reasoning behind this is the confusions that might result in the community when we have a 10-year plan and in the agenda we didn’t identify the fact the plan is indicative and is not set in concrete,” she said.
“This motion shows that we will be reviewing it annually and that most assets have a gazetted life and that is an indication as to when you may have renew them.
“But there are other issues or opportunities that come up at different times and you want to have that adaptability.”
Councillors resolved to note the report as indicative, endorse the annual process to review the forecast 10-year program and refer the current draft program back to the administration for updating and return to council for adoption.
“We did have a list presented to us today but I propose that goes back to the administration for updating because as we looked at it there were perhaps some anomalies that may have been confusing to not only us but others,” Cr Neele said.
