Emily Laracy was best on court in this year’s O and M grand-final and she would love to be in another grand-final in 2025 – with Corowa.
After playing with Yarrawonga for the past two seasons, the 24-year-old is returning to her home town Corowa where she played A Grade before Corowa had to miss the 2023 season.
“It’s so exciting and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to come back,” the 181cm GK, WD star told The Free Press. “Ro (Black) and Soph (Hanrahan) had done the hard yards through the recess to have Corowa back.”
Emily is living in Corowa. She and partner Jordan Lavis are building their home in Rutherglen. An admin officer with Kennedy Builders Mulwala, Emily enjoyed her netball time with Yarrawonga. “Now I’m really looking forward to being back and also co-coaching the Under 17s with Soph,” she said.
Corowa Rutherglen Football Netball Club CO President Rowena Black described Emily’s return as “great”. “It’s very exciting to have her back. To see her development in the 10 years since she started playing with us – she’s grown to become a stronger player. We’re very excited what she will bring to our club.”
In other exciting news, Albury’s 2024 A Grade best and fairest, mid courter Gabe McRae will also play for the Roos in 2025.
