When Jesus called the disciples, he told them to put down their nets and ‘follow me’.
They were called from being fishermen to becoming the fishers of men.
These disciples immediately left their old life and followed Jesus.
Before we come to faith in Jesus, we are spiritually blind.
When we commit ourselves to follow Jesus, His spirit comes to life within us and lights up our being and our understanding.
When we commit ourselves to Jesus, we say yes to His lordship of our lives.
There is an expression, ‘He wants to be Lord of all, or he’s not Lord at all’.
We have to willingly surrender our whole life to Him and allow Him to direct our steps, along the path He marks out for us.
This takes humility and courage.
We can, however, know with confidence, that He has good plans for us and that He will lead us into places we could never have hoped for or even imagined.
God has a big life prepared for His followers, and we can be sure that the brightness of our days will only increase as we continue to walk with Him.
