The theme of Education Week this year is 150 years of public education.
Up until lunchtime on Monday the kids participated in activities such as learning copperplate writing and playing games of marbles.
Principal Simone Higgins said they were giving the kids a fun day while learning about the past; and there was not a screen to be seen!
“Giving our students the experience of what it was like going to school back in the days before technology,” she said.
“Even just the little things, back when they went to school they had to stand to answer a question.”
At lunchtime the students participated in activities involving rhymes and songs from years gone by and played games their grandparents would have recognised, such as elastics, jacks, marbles, egg and spoon races and large rope skipping.
