In light of changes to the season forced by the Victorian COVID-19 lockdown, the league made the decision last week to move the grand final from September 4 to September 18.
The move follows the Bendigo Football and Netball League's decision to move its grand final from September 18 to September 24.
The decision now adds an extra two weeks to the season, which provides the opportunity for the competition to retain a full 18-round fixture.
Heathcote and District Football Netball League games resumed on Saturday, making it one of the first Victorian-based leagues to return after the state's recent COVID-19 lockdown.
Players with a Melbourne residential address were not able to line up in games, while crowd limits and COVID-19 restrictions meant clubs’ game-day protocols also changed.
LBU coach Brodie Collins said his team were "in and out" at White Hills on the weekend, turning up for their game right before the start of their match and leaving soon after it ended.
This Saturday, the fixture will retain its round nine match-ups, giving clubs the chance to finish playing every team once.
Round 10 will then bring forward round 12 games, before moving through the fixture as planned to round 16 (formerly round 18).
The draw then circles back to its original round 10 and 11 games on August 14 and 21 before finals begin on August 28.
