Held on Sunday, May 16 at Lockington Park, Lions Club secretary Marg Dowie said the day was a huge success.
“I guess because people haven't been able to get out and about, that's why there was such a great response,” Ms Dowie said.
“People came from anywhere from Mildura to Wangaratta.
“And we had car clubs come from Kerang, Rochester, Echuca as part of the Show ‘n’ Shine.”
Ms Dowie said feedback from the Lockington community, as well as vendors, had been fantastic.
“For Lockington itself, with a population of about 400, this sort of event is most welcome to the town,” she said.
“Not only does it mean people come to the organised swap meet, people may get an ice cream from our ice creamery, or go to the takeaway and grab something, or go to the hotel and have a couple of drinks.
“And the store holders, they were very pleased with the response in the foot traffic, the lookers and buyers.
“Everyone in the town gets a little bit from these visitors.”
Ms Dowie thanked all the locals and surrounding towns who came and supported the event.
“The money from the event all goes to a good cause eventually,” she said.
“That's what Lions Clubs are all about, we raise money to then help out in the community.”
The event will return next year on Sunday, May 15, (the third Sunday of the month).
