Popular jazz group to play at Goornong for fundraiser

Touring jazz band Hot B Hines is set to perform classic jazz hits for a joint community group fundraiser in Goornong next month.

The afternoon concert is being held to raise money for the memorial hall and recreation reserve committees, with both groups co-hosting the event.

Memorial hall president Pam Rogers said she was thrilled to be collaborating on the event and was excited to host both residents and visitors.

“Many of us have been working very hard for many years to support our town and this will be a great opportunity to raise funds but also bring people together and have fun,” she said.

Recreation reserve president David Stretch said he valued the committees’ partnership and hoped the fundraiser was the first of many moving forward.

All profits raised from tickets, which includes afternoon tea, will fund the committees and their community work.

The concert is on Sunday, October 13, from 1pm to 4pm at Goornong hall, 32 Railway Place South, Goornong.
