Rochester Ampol helps those in need

Ampol Rochester’s Justin and Rachel Cleary have partnered with the fuel outlet and Tasco Petroleum to help support district organisations and struggling families.

“It’s the second occasion that we’ve teamed up with our partners, Ampol retailers and Tasco Petroleum, and we’ll be distributing $10,000 in fuel cards to various community groups targeting those struggling financially,” Mr Cleary said.

“Cards will go to the Rochester Community House and the Echuca regional flood recovery, part of ERH.”

A total of $30,000 has been raised between the three organisations in the past 12 months.

The Clearys have operated the business for more than 20 years and have had great support from the community.

Two organisations to be supported for their tireless work are Rochester Community House and Rochester CFA.

First lieutenant Brett Kyne and fellow firefighters Hayley Malseed and ex-captain Vaughan Thomas were grateful for the generous donation.

“This will go a long way to helping those CFA volunteers who are still facing homelessness 12 months after the floods,” Mr Kyne said.

RCH’s Jodi Dobson and Amanda Logie appreciated the help.

“Thank you so much for all of your support and everyone who has supported us over the past 12 months,” Mrs Logie said.

ERH team leader Carl Durnin was also grateful for the support.

“This will make a big difference to those who need it most,” Mr Durnin said.

Tasco Petroleum and Ampol, wholly Australian-owned companies, thought it appropriate to support a town that has experienced challenges over the past 12 months.

“People will be referred to either ERH or Rochester Community House, and the staff at those organisations will use their discretion to help those in need,” Mr Cleary said.

“Another of the agencies we will support is the Rochester CFA and we are here to assist them in fundraising for additional equipment.
