But it’s now back.
Last week, Rochester Basketball Association players took to the court to burn off energy which had been building for months.
Play was allowed to resume under strict COVID-19 restrictions, but the club is happy to report everything ran smoothly.
Secretary Meagan Keating said it was fantastic to see the kids playing a sport they love.
“It was great seeing so many smiling faces,” Keating said.
“We had five games on Tuesday, four on Wednesday and then two on Thursday.
“It was all very different to the last time we played but everyone did the right thing.
“We’re really thankful for the attitude everyone showed.”
The safety of players, officials and spectators was made much easier thanks to sanitiser from Rochester Mitre 10 and Rochester Chemmart Pharmacy.
“It’s always fantastic when local businesses and sport can work together,” Keating said.
“Being able to keep our shopping local is a big boost for the Rochester community.”
