Friday’s season opener was called off due to heavy rain meaning the first events are now expected to take place on October 23.
And the club still remains on the lookout for new members.
“Everyone is welcome to come down and give it a go,” president Gary Milligan said.
“We are offering people the chance to come down at try their first two nights of the season for free.
“But you’ll have to register on the Little Athletics Victoria website before you attend because there are COVID-19 protocols you will have to agree to.
“Our program is run at 5.45pm every Friday night.
“We are fully aware that COVID-19 may give us new challenges due to restrictions, the likes of which we have never experienced before, but we have a dedicated committee who will work to deliver the best experience possible.
“We have a COVID safe plan and committee members have completed COVID safety officer training.
The club also received a massive boost last week after being awarded a grant of more than $3000 by Elmore/Lockington/Rochester Community Bank.
“The money is a huge boost to our club,” Milligan said.
“It will go a long way to helping some of our members pay their fees for the season ahead.
“We can partially reimburse any registration costs to each and every athlete who have registered and paid by November 10.
“We’re extremely thankful to the Bendigo Bank for their support.”
