The two-day workshop comes under the Future Drought Fund’s Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought Initiative.
It is targeted at individuals who want to drive meaningful change within their community and who have an interest in leading local action to prepare for drought effectively.
ARLF chief executive Matt Linnegar said the workshops would provide potential leaders with the necessary skills to create change.
“This Changemaker workshop empowers individuals who wish to make a real difference in their communities by providing them with skills in assessing their region’s readiness for change, positive change agency, purposeful engagement and storytelling to shape communities,” he said.
“We believe that through collaboration and purposeful engagement, positive change is not only possible but also achievable.”
This initiative builds on previous programs to help prepare agriculture-dependent communities across rural, regional and remote Australia for the impacts of drought and changing climate.
The workshops are run in partnership with LEAD Loddon Murray and will be held at the Rochester Community House from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Thursday, March 13 and Friday, March 14.
Workshops will also be held in Maryborough on Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21 and Wedderburn on Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12.
