After the first cocktail night was such a success last year, Jada Scarfo and Sarah Vickers are bringing the event back in November.
“We successfully raised a total of $15,287, which was donated to Pancare Foundation (last year),” Ms Scarfo said.
“Thankfully COVID restrictions eased, which meant border towns could operate as normal a couple days prior to the event being held.
“We had over 75 local businesses donate, and over 100 people attend the event.”
This year’s event will have more than $7500 in prizes up for grabs with silent auctions, raffles and lucky balloon competitions, and local musician Georgina Bish will perform live throughout the night.
The Pancare Foundation is a leading charity committed to inspiring hope, raising awareness, supporting families and funding research for upper gastrointestinal cancers.
Its mission is to improve survival rates and support for Australians diagnosed with pancreatic, liver, stomach, biliary and oesophageal cancers, with pancreatic cancer projected to be the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths by 2030.
Pancare Foundation chief executive Doug Hawkins will also be speaking at the event.
The Shine The Light fundraiser will be held at Moama Bowling Club on November 4 from 6.30pm until 11.30pm, with attendees reminded to wear a splash of purple on the night.
