The bus initiative is part of the Victorian Government’s plan to provide small business owners with the knowledge and skills to overcome financial challenges and help them succeed.
Business recovery adviser Tony Barrett travelled to Rochester on the bus.
Mr Barrett has worked in many businesses during the past two decades and now helps smaller operators face various challenges.
“My role where I work with the Business Recovery Advisory Service is to advise business owners who have been faced with challenges over the past few years,” Mr Barrett said.
“While I am new to this specific role, I have a business background where I have operated a smaller business and worked as an adviser for larger companies in Melbourne. I also have an MBA (Master’s of Business Administration).”
While the bus was in town for the day, it was a timely reminder to highlight that help is only a phone call away.
This was the third visit to Rochester by the bus in 2023 following stops in September and October.
“The Small Business Bus visits regional towns in Victoria with the idea of providing on-the-spot high-level business advice to small business owners,” Mr Barrett said.
“This service will be in Rochester for the next 12 months. We started here in September and will continue till August next year.”
