Spillway reserve reopens

The flows from the secondary spillway also meant large amounts of rock and sediment were carried down to the Campaspe River.

Heavy machinery was required to remove this material, causing further damage to the roads.

Extensive remediation works were carried out before the reserve could reopen to the public.

As well as general clean-up of the area, 700m of road, as well as a turning area, had to be repaired.

The repairs were funded through a flood recovery grant from the Victorian Government.
