Stage two includes the installation of a new floating dock and fully accessibly walkway ramp, as well as upgrades to the wet ramp and retaining walls.
The first stage of the project, focused on improvements to the top section of the ramp, was completed in December 2023.
Construction of the second stage will continue until November 2024, with these months chosen due to the low river level and decreased demand for the ramp.
Campaspe Shire Council Mayor Rob Amos said he is thrilled to see the works begin so that the site can be all-abilities accessible.
“This will be a fantastic improvement to the boat ramp to make it more accessible and inclusive for our community to use,” he said.
“Council is committed to providing high-quality recreational facilities for our residents and visitors.
“We thank you for your patience and look forward to unveiling the upgraded Victoria Park Boat Ramp.”
