Starting from Saturday, November 16, the weekend deliveries will be available in all metro capitals and select regional cities and towns, including Shepparton.
Australia Post executive general manager parcel, post and e-commerce services Gary Starr said the weekend deliveries were vital for customers to receive their parcels before Christmas Day.
“With the holiday season just around the corner, we know how important it is for our customers to receive their parcels on time,” he said.
“By bringing back weekend deliveries, we’re not just meeting customer demand, but hopefully making holiday shopping easier for everyone.
“With the cost-of-living crunch, customers are expected to make the most of major shopping events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so we anticipate early Christmas shopping will drive another record-breaking year.”
Weekend deliveries will remain until Christmas, depending on volumes.
To ensure items arrive on time, Australia recommends parcels should be sent by Friday, December 20 for most destinations in Australia, or if sending by express post, by Monday, December 23.
