The Coomboona property, at the end of Trotter Rd and not far from the Goulburn River, was once part of the Coomboona Dairies business formerly owned by agricultural businessman Alex Arena.
The 27ha property includes 20ha of irrigated farmland on Shepparton fine sandy loam pastures.
Real estate agent Glenn Young said the original historic homestead, going back to the 1800s, had been completely upgraded and transformed in a labour of love.
He said the accompanying land could accommodate a vineyard, orchard or olive grove.
The extensive gardens have been enjoyed by many people attending open days and private functions.
As well as the main house there is a former dairy, which has been transformed into a stylish tearoom and could also be used for accommodation.
Offers around $6 million are being invited through expressions of interest.
