PREMIUM Opinion Oddie | A perfect match By Oddie Oct 11, 2022 Someone’s going to have to change: News reporter Monique Preston and the office greenery were matching last week. Photo by Megan Fisher Oddie loves a good outfit co-ordination. Hold tight - we’re checking permissions before loading more content So when reporter Monique Preston walked in last week looking suspiciously familiar, Oddie had to investigate. Eventually it hit us — the office wisteria plant had stolen her look. Photographer Megan Fisher was on hand to capture the happy coincidence — although it was much easier for one party to change than the other. Speaking of journalists in front of the lens It would be remiss of Oddie not to acknowledge the wonderful work of deputy editor Max Stainkamph in a recent photo shoot for Don Magazine. On occasion, when outside talent is unavailable or unwilling, The News looks internally for models and stand-ins for some of our advertising shoots. Mr Stainkamph dutifully got his hiking gear on and went adventuring, photographer in tow, to help give some of Don’s ads that personal touch. We reckon he enjoyed himself — although he certainly won’t admit that. In his element: Max Stainkamph. Photo by Holly Daniel Starting them young News editor Tyler Maher has been in a recruiting frame of mind recently, although the latest cadet he trialled might have been slightly too green. Bonnie Maher, 17 months, paid the office a visit last week to make sure everything was in good working order. She was especially fascinated by the coffee machine and the various plant-life around the place. Oddie awaits her full report with bated breath. Tip top: Bonnie Maher gives the office a once-over last week.
