The Tigers only led by 17 points at the main break, after leading by 25 points at the first change in the Goulburn Valley League football clash.
But after the main break, the Tigers kicked into gear, as they kicked nine goals to two in the second half to run out 64-point winners.
Daniel Russell played the supporting role up forward, kicking four goals, but despite the efforts of his forwards, Stroobants said it was an even performance that resulted in the 15.11 (101) to 5.7 (37) victory.
“No-one really stood out, we just had 22 players play a role,” Stroobants said.
“We've been up and down all year, so it was good to have everyone contributing.
“We need to build on that if we are going push for that finals spot.”
One thing in favour of the eighth-placed side, is their percentage of 107.78, which is better than Mooroopna (sixth) Shepparton United (seventh) and ninth-placed Benalla.
“The next two weeks against Tatura and Mooroopna are critical,” Stroobants said.
“If we drop one of those it will make it difficult, so we need to keep our mind on winning games of footy.
“That's all we can do at the minute.”
Other players to stand up for Rochester were Nathan Marrone and Dillon Williams.
For the Bears, Jayden Dhosi kicked two goals, as did Rhiley Lau, while Anthony Andronaco was the other player to hit the scoreboard for Shepparton.
As mentioned, the Tigers play Tatura at home next week, while the Bears face off at home against Mooroopna.
