The Cats managed five goals in the opening quarter, while the mighty Mounts made their skill apparent, piling on 16 to open their account.
After warming into the contest, the Cats managed to play a much better brand of netball, even shaving a couple of goals off Mount Pleasant’s lead.
Still, the Mounts did enough to hold a double-digit lead heading into the major break.
The visitors returned to their best in the second half, firing 17 shots through the net in the third term alone, with the hosts tallying seven in reply.
With a 22-goal lead to erase in the final quarter, the Cats had some work to do down the stretch.
Ultimately, the Mounts were too good on the day, rounding out the match with a 19-goal effort while LBU was able to finish with 11.
The final score was LBU 32 to Mount Pleasant 62.
The onslaught will continue into the next round when the Cats host major flag threat Colbinabbin.
Current leader Mount Pleasant hosts Leitchville-Gunbower in the next round.
Heathcote vs Colbinabbin
Colbinabbin scored at will against Heathcote to record a huge 90-22 win.
A 47-10 first half was followed up with a just as efficient second half as the Hoppers did wonders for their percentage in their first outing for the year.
Four teams are undefeated through two rounds, Colbo the fourth among them after the round one bye.
The Hoppers take a trip to LBU in the next round.
Elmore vs White Hills
In a tighter, low-scoring contest, White Hills managed to edge out Elmore 28-26 to improve to 2-0.
Elmore is now 1-1, the only side to have split its opening fixtures, good for a middling fifth place on the ladder.
Next week’s match will see the Bloods visit undefeated Huntly.
