Mitchell, who this year debuted in Round 3 against Richmond at the MCG, has played two senior games for the Swans since arriving at the club with Pick 40 in the 2022 National Draft.
The 20-year-old joined another local James Jordon, 23 at the Swans.
Sydney life is to Mitchell’s liking. “I love it,” he said and is off-field friends with Jordon.
Mitchell played a handful of games with Yarrawonga including as a grand-finalist in 2022. The Swans recruited him from the Murray Bushrangers with pick 40 of the 2022 NAB AFL Draft.
After a strong 2022 season in the NAB League Mitchell was selected for Vic Country in the National Championships.
Mitchell will now look to have a solid preseason ahead of season 2025 and the tallish, hard two-way runner will no doubt push for more senior games in his third year at the Swans.
