After a slow start to 2025 and multiple new faces and returning players playing in different positions, it all finally clicked for Moama, which took down Echuca United convincingly in its Three Jacks Trophy clash at Echuca South Recreation Reserve.

The side travelled across the border to face the Eagles in a game with a little bit of extra edge, with the coveted Three Jacks Trophy up for grabs.
Moama got off to a good start and never looked back, not relinquishing the lead through the entirety of the match.

Netting 11 goals in the opening term and limiting Echuca United to just six meant that the visitors held a five-goal lead at quarter time.
Continuing on with its solid attacking play in the second period, the Magpies goaled a further 10 times while the Eagles had a more productive stretch, bagging seven.

This led to an eight goal disparity at half-time, with Moama’s hunger its first win of the season apparent.
Moama had its most productive stretch in the third term, goaling 13 times to extend its lead while holding Echuca United to another seven-goal effort.

The Eagles rallied in the fourth quarter, delivering its best performance of the match with 11 goals, but it was the consistency of the Magpies that couldn’t be stopped with a 12 goal period to win by 15.
The final score was Moama 46 to Echuca United 31.

Both sides will get ample opportunity to continue on the winning path, with Moama facing Finley who have the same season record and Echuca United coming up against a winless Cobram in round four.
