For many of the players, this was their debut match, making their performance all the more commendable.
The girls worked tirelessly throughout the game, showing resilience and a willingness to learn, despite facing a tough opponent in Golden Square.
Standout performances came from Frankie Hay and Ella Forde, whose skill and hard work shone brightly on the field.
Special mention goes to Ava Rasmussen, who received the team's One Percenter Award for her outstanding effort throughout the game.

"This game was about more than the scoreline,” he said.

Under-12 Mixed
In what was a beautiful Sunday afternoon for football, a few delays throughout the day saw the under-12 mixed team require the light towers at Moama Recreation Reserve.
A great game was had in what turned into windy, dark and cold conditions.
Rochester started the game off well with great ball movement through the midfield, fantastic pressure and two early goals from Cooper Rasmussen and Charlie Pascoe.
Moama did fight back in the second quarter with the breeze, but some great contests from Heath Wilkins, Riley Nichol and River Powles in the backline kept the Tigers ahead at the main break.
The second half was much more of a scrappy contest.
Our little fellas Brax Ryan, Orly Cuttriss, Jed Cox and Henry Williams were crucial at ground level and the Rochester Tigers held on to win in a great first-round hit-out.

Under-16 Boys
Rochy under-16s played off against Maryborough in the first grading game of the season, an opponent they haven’t matched up against for some time.
Maryborough were two players short of a full side, so in a great display of sportsmanship, eight Rochy players rotated into the Maryborough team throughout the game to help them out.
Maryborough was on the board quickly with some early scoring, catching the Rochy boys off guard.
The backline defended well, led by Jag Tarrant and ably supported by Cal Giffin and Kaelan Connor.
However, Maryborough applied consistent pressure for the majority of the game, making it hard for Rochy to play catch-up, with the boys going into half-time 20 points down.
In the second half, Rochy stepped up their game with Tom Drust and Cale James linking up some positive passages of play through the centre.
Charlie Watson provided a consistent target in the forward line, well-supported by Jake Munro.
Although Rochy were outsized in the forward line, they matched Maryborough’s scoring shots for the quarter and continued to sit 20 points behind at the third break.
The boys showed great improvement in the final quarter, with ruckman Preston Kath dominating the tap outs, giving Rochy more centre clearances to open up more scoring shots.
The Rochy boys played hard all game, never gave up and outscored Maryborough in the final quarter to bring the margin back to eleven points.
If only there was one more quarter in the game.
