Seth made his first appearance for Goulburn Valley in their season opener two weeks ago and captained his side on Sunday in their 2-2 draw with Ashburton.
He spent the last three seasons playing with the Moama-Echuca Border Raiders but has now made the jump to the National Premier League junior level, playing for the Suns.
This will be Seth’s first time playing at the NPL level. He said he was expecting the difficulty to be higher, but also that he was looking forward to the opportunity.
“It’s definitely harder than local (level), it’s really strong,” he said.
“It’s definitely more fun because it’s more of a challenge.”
Seth lives in Rochester, and he said the hardest part about the upcoming season would be the travel.
Training sessions are about an hour away in Shepparton, with most games being played in Melbourne.
Seth has played all over the park, but has recently spent most of his time in the midfield, where he can fully utilise his speed, fitness and great passing skills.
“I pretty much play everywhere. I’ve played striker quite a few times, defence for a couple years and midfield for a couple years, too,” he said.
“I really like the midfield because you can go everywhere and always help out your teammates everywhere on the pitch.”
He first trialled with the Suns back in November, and after completing four sessions over two weeks, he was selected to be part of the team for this season.
Seth has previously been part of the Bendigo City junior academy, and last season he was selected to the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League representative team in 2021.
His BASL representative side was supposed to play in the Victorian Country Championships last year, but the tournament was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 13-year-old first started playing football when he was seven, saying that despite also trying basketball and Aussie rules he always preferred football.
Seth said his favourite teams were Melbourne City and Barcelona, and the youngster had already experienced some special moments with his favourite Australian club.
His favourite match was seeing City win their first-ever FFA Cup in 2016, and he got to walk out with the City players at AAMI Park ahead of a game against the Wellington Phoenix.
With plenty of games still to come this season, Seth said he was focused on improving as the year went on.
“Just become a better player, just getting used to NPL because NPL is definitely going to make me a better player,” he said.
