The championships will this year be contested over three consecutive Saturdays, with A, B, C and D grades. Juniors will play two rounds.
The ladies championships started yesterday, with players nominating Thursday or Saturday for the first two rounds, then a final seeded Thursday round.
Last Thursday was a small field in wet conditions for the 9 and 18 holes medley events.
The 9 hole winner was Marg Marshall with 18 points from Mardi Chartres 15, and 18 hole stableford winner was Michael Everett 33 from runner-up Karen Butcher 29.
The in-form golfer in the past week has been Ross Pogonoski, who took out the A-grade events on Saturday and Wednesday.
Saturday was versus par, with Pogonoski scoring +3 to take the A-grade prize on countback to runner-up Vicki Brunker.
B-grade winner was John Henderson +3 from runner-up Bryan Bennett on square, and C-grade Toby Rae +3 on countback to Marg Radeski.
On Wednesday, Pogonoski had 38 points to win A-grade from runner-up Peter Joice 37.
B-grade winner was Shandra Simpson 40 from runner-up Geoff McCallum 39, and C-grade Ken Maher 38 from runner-up Graham Flanagan 35.
Stroke events will be the order of play for the next few weeks while the championships continue.
However, there will still be 9 hole stableford on Tuesday and the usual stableford competition next Wednesday.
