We had great numbers register, with as many as 25 new players taking the court for the first under-10 season.
With a mix of skills training and actual games over the course of the season, there was improvement in all of the young players.
For the last week, we decided the kids could play a full game, in readiness for next season when the committee will continue with a proper competition with full games every week.
The committee worked hard to make the season a success and enjoyed watching all the players and their families come every week to cheer them on.
With many volunteers helping contribute to a successful first season to our committee, coaches, referees and all involved.
This season has also seen a few older juniors support the younger players with special mention to Jackson Quarrell, Scarlett Parker, Jack Walker, Kobi Thwaites.
After the games for the final week each child was presented with a medal, bag of lollies and a small basketball.
The season is at the pinnacle stage with our grand finals under way this Thursday, with under-12 at 5pm, under-16 at 6pm, under-14 and senior women’s at 7pm and senior men’s at 8pm.
Spectators are welcome to come and see who will take out the Sportspower MVP award for the best player of the grand finals for each age group.
The season was a great success and the committee is looking forward to hopefully similar numbers or even more for the next comp which starts on January 30 next year.
